Source_Contribution: USGS Topo Maps - Coordinates for the corners of the quadrangle
and the interval between them (7.5° for full quads, 3.25° for
quarter-quads). NYSDOT's USGS Quadrangle Index - QUADNAME and MRC
fields in polygon and region.quadrangle layers.
Process_Step:
Process_Description: The data set was created using the GENERATE command in
Arc/Info, with the FISHNET option. The origin coordinate was set to
-76.75,42.25; the Y-axis coordinate was set to -76.75,42.75; the cell
size was set to 0.0625 (which is equivalent to 0° 3" 30'); and the
opposite corner was set to -76.125,42.75. The QUADNAME and MRC items
were then added and populated, based on NYSDOT's USGS Quadrangle Index
data set. The QUADRANT field was added and populated, to designate the
quarter-quadrant. The Quadrangle region was then created using the
REGIONDISSOLVE command on the QUADNAME field. The coverage was then
projected to NY State Plane Central Zone, Feet, NAD83.
